The family of a woman killed by a suspect drunk driver honored the mother and grandmother Wednesday night on the same beach where she was killed.

Elizabeth Braly, 45, of Hendersonville, NC was walking with family when Tuesday evening in Daytona Beach Shores when Florida Highway Patrol said Shawn Doolan, 35, barreled through an access gate to the beach and hit Braly.

Doolan posted a $12,000 bond Wednesday afternoon and walked out of the Volusia County jail with a blanket over his head.

Braly was a mother of seven and a grandmother of four.

“It’s dealing with the healing process, more than anything," said Mark Braly, Elizabeth's husband. "And, we believe there’s Lord Jesus Christ and he is the maker of Heaven and the Earth. He’ll reign forever…and the moment she died, the Bible says, absent from the Earth is present with the Lord. As soon as she died on impact, she was with him.”

The couple had just celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on June 15. Mark Braly had driven back to North Carolina Tuesday morning. He rushed back when he heard what happened.

Two hours before the crash, Braly spoke to his wife on the phone. They told each other "I love you."

"Love with all your heart," Mark Braly said Wednesday. "Love people like God loves you and let them know.”

Right now, troopers are waiting for blood tests to find out how intoxicated Doolan was, but it could be another few weeks until those results come back.
