A water main break in Suntree means residents will have to boil their drinking water the next few days.

The water main break happened on Inverness Avenue at Pauma Valley Way.

Cocoa Utilities Dept. said the following areas are affected:

  • All of Granada Court
  • Pauma Valley Way
  • Southern Hills Court
  • La Costa Court
  • Long Meadow Lane
  • Park Ridge Place
  • Royal Oak Court
  • From 981 Inverness Ave. to 1100 Inverness Ave.

Any water you use for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing your teeth, washing dishes, should be boiled at a rolling boil for one minute. The water is safe for bathing, laundering and other uses. You can also use bottled water.

Tap water can be disinfected by adding eight drops of unscented, household bleach (46% active ingredients) to each gallon of water, then mixing the water and allowing it to stand for 30 minutes at least.

The Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until the problem is resolved -- at least two days.
