The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating after a boat capsized in the Indian River Lagoon on Sunday, killing a woman and a 4-year-old child.

Officials say the boat capsized around 4 p.m. Sunday about 50 yards off the northeast side of the Indian River Lagoon, just north of the Eau Gallie Causeway.

Six people were on the 18-foot boat including the woman and child. The other four occupants were pulled from the water and transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center. Officials say those four people are expected to be OK.

The incident will remain under investigation by the FWC.
