Newly released 911 calls reveal the moments after workers in Osceola County found a body that was later identified as 16-year-old Alexandria Chery.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office released the audio Tuesday, nearly a week after the teen's body was positively identified.

Alexandria Chery was last seen alive July 28 at her home in the Pine Hills area of Orange County. Her mother's boyfriend, Sanel Saint Simon, has been locked up on $200,000 bond for charges of evidence tampering and lying to law enforcement. Saint Simon has not been charged in Chery's death at this time.

Chery's body was found Aug. 1 by a landscaping crew near the entrance to the Reunion community along Osceola-Polk Line Road, just west of I-4 at ChampionsGate.

The Sheriff's Office redacted much of the audio from the 911 call, leaving the caller anonymous and removing other details that have not yet been made public in the ongoing investigation.

Based on the audio, the call was made by a co-worker or supervisor of the workers who found the body about 7 feet into a wooded area near the Reunion entrance.

"They said they'd been smelling something for a couple of days." the caller told dispatchers.

The caller noted he saw a search for the teen on the news on nearby Jahna Mine Road, less than 2 miles from where Chery's body was found.

"They went past the tree line there, and they told me that curiosity got the best of them, and that's why they went in the woods," the caller said, adding, "One guy's pretty shaken up."

The cause of Chery's death has not been released. Detectives said they believe Saint Simon tampered with evidence at Chery's home, where the teen's mother found blood in her room and bleach that appeared to be used to cover up the blood.

Investigators said they also found what appeared to be blood inside Saint Simon's car. Samples from the car were collected, and results are pending.
