Well-known Brevard journalist Donna Skattum dies at 54

Many in Brevard County are mourning the loss of a well-known journalist who died over the weekend after a three-year battle with cancer.

Donna Skattum was known across the Brevard County social scene — taking pictures and writing articles about events for SpaceCoast Living Magazine. Skattum was 54.

Skattum seemed to be everywhere in the area, providing coverage and publicity for nonprofit organizations and charities. Skattum is survived by her husband, Jon, who works for Bright House Media Strategies in Melbourne.

Funeral services are being planned.
