Two friends were injured Sunday afternoon at the Shoot Straight in Casselberry when one friend tried to remove a round that had jammed in a semi-automatic 9mm handgun.

Police say the man wound up shooting himself in the finger, and the bullet continued through his friends thigh before lodging in the wall of the gun range.

Both men were transported to nearby hospitals; due to the nature of the incident the man who was shot in the thigh was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

"One of the men thought he could teach the other how to shoot," said Sergeant Mark Stein, Casselberry Police Department. "He shot himself in his own finger and the bullet then went through his friend's thigh and embedded itself in a wall."

The injuries to both men are reportedly not life-threatening.
