A jury found William Sherwood guilty of murder Wednesday in Brevard County.

Sherwood, 65, was convicted of second-degree murder in the March 2013 shooting death of John Pratt in a road rage incident.

The defendant testified Friday that Pratt, a car salesman on a test drive with a customer's vehicle, cut him off in traffic.

Moments later, Sherwood rear-ended Pratt's vehicle at a red light.

He told the court he was in fear after the collision, watching as Pratt got out of his vehicle, approached Sherwood's car and reached in the window.

"He put his left hand on the side of the window. Then he punched me in the side of his head with his right hand. Then he tried to get the door open, I heard a metallic sound. Then he reached in with both hands, grabbed my head and started twisting," testified Sherwood.

The jury deliberated most of the day Wednesday. They re-watched the surveillance video from a nearby gas station which caught the collision and shooting on tape.

Dashcam video from one of the first Melbourne police officers to arrive on the scene of the suspected road rage incident, showing their first encounter with William Sherwood with guns drawn. They thenattend to John Pratt, who lay on the ground shot.

The jurors looked very intense and focused as they watched the screen -- looking for specifics.

Pratt was a car salesman test driving a customer's car for a potential trade in when Sherwood says Pratt cut him off in traffic.

Sherwood's sentencing is set for Nov. 14.
