Charlie Crist joined forces with former President Bill Clinton in Miami Friday night.

When Crist was still a republican, he said Clinton should leave the White House after the Monica Lewinsky scandal; now that Crist is a democrat, he is getting an endorsement from the former President.

Charlie Crist welcomed a man to the stage who he was once criticized. Former President Bill Clinton came to the podium and told democrats they have to come out in bigger numbers than republicans to vote in the mid-term elections.

"It is my profound honor and pleasure to be with you and introduce the 42nd president of the United States, President Bill Clinton," said Crist.

Friday it was fanfare for Clinton as Charlie Crist accepted accolades from the former president. But it was a very different tune back in 1998 when President Clinton was embroiled in the Monica Lewinski scandal. Then-Republican Crist blasted the president for tearing the moral fiber of the country.

"I think the best thing that he can do for the country is resign the office of president," said Crist in 1998.

But Friday night there was a new message from the new political pals.  If democrats don't get out and vote, Crist won't win.

Clinton didn't hold back as he described the poor showing by democrats for the primary election..
"We all know that typically in non-presidential years republicans vote better than democrats. We are not going to let that happen are we?" asked the former president.

Voters News 13 spoke to at the rally say they got the message.

Neither Charlie Crist nor Bill Clinton spoke with the media after the event.
