A popular children’s toy called "Bunchems" has parents in a tangle.

The toy is getting stuck in their children's hair -- and it’s been a nightmare for some parents to get out.

Bunchems are little colorful balls with prongs that make them stick to each other. Unfortunately, they also easily stick to hair.

Parents and guardians have taken to the web to warn others. "Don't let these get close to long hair!!! Took hours to get out and had to cut most of them out!!!!" one Amazon reviewer lamented.

Several reviews told of horror stories of children who had to have their hair cut very short to remove Bunchems. Some describe hours of pain and tears during the difficult removal.

One hairstylist wrote that she spent four hours getting Bunchems out of a girl's hair -- and the process cost $200.

The toy’s creator, Spin Master, warns people on Amazon.com to keep Bunchems away from hair. The company also has posted a video on its website demonstrating how to get them out of hair using conditioner and vegetable oil.

The method shows Bunchems sliding out of hair, but some parents online have lamented that it didn't work.
