Despite winning a second term in office a majority of Floridians don't approve of the job that Gov. Rick Scott is doing.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows that only 42 percent of voters approve of the job Scott is doing while 47 percent disapprove.
That same poll, however, showed that 53 percent of Floridians are "generally optimistic" about the next four years under Scott.
Scott has consistently had negative job approval ratings but he was able to defeat Democrat Charlie Crist last November.
The poll showed that 47 percent approved of the job that U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio was doing versus 35 percent who disapproved. U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson also good job approval ratings.
The poll was conducted from January 22 – February 1. Quinnipiac University surveyed 936 Florida voters with a margin of error of +/- 3.2 percent.
