Police officers from all over the world are in Lake County this week. Not for what you might think, though. They've traded in their guns and badges for a pair of cleats and a soccer ball.

The Police Soccer World Championships are going on at the National Training Center, in Clermont. The tournament features eight teams from around the world.

Police from the United Kingdom and Sweden were on the pitch Wednesday afternoon. Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway traded police patches with the Brazilian team.

A retired British police officer living in the area came up with the idea as a way to promote camaraderie among law enforcement officers.

The tournament runs through Friday.
