The average price of a regular gallon of gas has jumped 21 cents in the past two weeks.

The national average price of gasoline is $2.46 as of Monday. That's 9 cents more than a month ago.

In Orlando, the average price at the pump is a little lower, at $2.40 a gallon.

AAA, which is headquartered in Seminole County, says the price of gas has been moving higher for 39 consecutive days through Friday. The auto club says paying $2 for gas will seem like a distant memory in the coming weeks.

Los Angeles had the highest gas prices in the lower 48 cities surveyed, at $3.48 a gallon. California saw prices jump a whopping 57 cents.

The lowest national average was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at $2.16.
