Friday, April 23, 2015, marks the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope.

To celebrate the occasion — and in the spirit of "Throwback Thursday" — we've dug up our own interactive coverage of the final space shuttle mission to Hubble in 2009. On mission STS-125, seven astronauts — including NASA's science mission chief, John Grunsfeld — flew on shuttle Atlantis to service the telescope.

Interactive: Mission to Hubble

Take a look back at our interactive coverage from 2009 of the final mission to Hubble.

Atlantis lifted off at 2:01 p.m. on May 11, 2009, on a 13-day mission that came with more risks than usual, and after a seven-month delay. Atlantis and its crew were supposed to fly to Hubble in late 2008, but the telescope broke down.

The Hubble was in need of new equipment and repairs, and the shuttle arrived at the orbiting observatory on May 13 to begin the billion-dollar repair job, including installing new cameras, batteries and gyroscopes.
