Gaige Robbins, 19, is dealing with cancer, but he’s still as positive as ever thanks to a social media blitz asking for help.

"If you let something get to you, you've already lost the battle," he said at his hospital bed in Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is tearing down his immune system, but his attitude is strong.

And his innate humor hasn't wavered.

Last April, his family surprised him with a 'bucket list' wish. He wanted to go skydiving.

"Oh man, that was the best rush I've ever had in my life!" he told News 13, after the jump.

The last couple months have been tough for Gaige. His body is weaker and he's been in the hospital for the past week.

His family is by his side and they know his time is short.

"He keeps getting bad test results, but he just looks at us and says ok, we're going to keep on going," said his father Shane.

They started a Facebook page "Support Gaige Robbins" and it exploded.

More than 2,000 people like it -- and are buying these special t-shirts, snapping a picture of them wearing it, and posting it.

Also postcards and letters are pouring in from around the world.

"There's someone in Tokyo, someone in Canada, people in Texas, who've never met me, who want the best for me," said Gaige.

"It's good other people get to see how great he is, unfortunately on bad circumstances," his mother Christa said.

While he's grateful for all the attention, there's one more 'bucket list' item this young man with so much wit would like to scratch off.

Meet his funny man idol: Comedian Adam Sandler.

"If I could send him a message, 'I'm over here'," he said with a smile.

Here and still fighting, and inspiring.

Gaige's family is hoping through all this awareness that someone will help them find a clinical trial to treat his cancer.
