Sabra Dipping Company is voluntarily recalling some of its hummus products and spreads due to a possible listeria contamination.

The recall affects certain hummus products made prior to Nov. 8 and distributed in the U.S. and Canada.

Sabra is urging consumers with any product with a “Best Before” date up through Jan. 23, 2017, to discard it.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and others with weak immune systems. Symptoms include headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Products not included in the recall are Sabra Oraganic Hummus, Sabra Salsa, Sabra Guacamole and Sabra Greek Yogurt Dips.
