Leslie Kinsella says a 400-pound bear is living in his DeBary backyard.

Kinsella says the bear is making almost nightly visits to neighborhood trash cans on Woodall Road rummaging for food, then heading back inside the woods.

He said his daughters are curious about the bear.

"Big bear. I don't bother him, he won't bother me, but I just don't like the thought of my two daughters in the same picture frame as the bear," said Kinsella.

Kinsella said his daughters' swing set is in the direct path the bear takes to get to the woods.

So far, there have been no violent encounters with the bear. No one has been injured.

But Kinsella is concerned the bear is not afraid of humans and says he has come within feet of the furry animal.

"I've drove in and the bear will be right beside the truck, checking out the garbage cans and will not move. Roll down the window and you'll still see him," said Kinsella.

Kinsella contacted Florida Fish and Wildlife rangers about his visitor. He says, at this time, they have no plans to trap the bear. Kinsella says he's fine with that, for now.

"If he starts causing more problems, obviously it would be nice to have him relocated, I believe to Wekiva and stuff like that."
