A man accused of shooting another man was arrested after leading deputies on a multi-county chase that ended in a crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County.

According to Vero Beach police, Christian Sagastume, 23, shot Jeffrey Rose, 25, outside a bar located at 1660 Old Dixie Highway.

Rose was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he later died.

At 3 p.m., Indian River County deputies tried to pull over a motor home driven by Sagastume in front of a Howard Johnson hotel near I-95.

Sagastume fled the scene, leading deputies on a chase into Brevard County.

A short time later, the chase ended when the motor home caught on fire on the interstate, between Wickham Road and the Pineda Causeway.

Sagastume was taken into custody.

Vero Beach police said charges will be upgraded to homicide.
