The Brevard County winners of the historic $1.58 billion Powerball jackpot finally came forward Wednesday to claim their prize.

David Kaltschmidt, 55, and Maureen Smith, 70, from Melbourne Beach claimed the prize in a trust named The Nickel 95 Trust.

They chosed to receive the winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment in the amount of $327,835,077.79.

During the news conference at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee, the winners said they had been playing the same Lottery numbers for years but  didn't watch the drawing live and found out they had won the next morning.

The winning numbers were 4-8-19-27-34 and Powerball 10.

They purchased their ticket at the Publix supermarket on State Road A1A in Melbourne Beach.

Kaltschmidt and Smith share the jackpot with two other winners from Tennessee and California.

A Tennessee couple claimed the first winning ticket two days after the winning numbers were drawn. John and Lisa Robertson bought the ticket from Naifeh’s Food Mart in Munford, about 25 miles north of Memphis. They took a lump sum total of about $327 million.

The other winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Chino Hills, Calif. That winner has not been identified.
