For the past year and half business has been steady at car dealerships like Chevrolet dealer in Palm Coast. Caleb Confusione said that's partly thanks to gas prices.
"You see a lot of people walking around when the prices are right in gas," said Confusione.
But Mick Casane at Flagler Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Inc. said cheaper gas prices bring more people out to shop for cars of their choice, rather than the particularly fuel efficient cars like hybrids or electrical cars people often look for when gas is higher.
"When gas was really high people were looking for the V6s and the four-cylinder, the way more fuel-efficient cars. I sell a lot more muscle cars and a lot more trucks as the prices of gas goes down," said Casane.

AAA said the upcoming holiday, spring break and a temporary break for the oil refineries are responsible for the new uptick in prices.
Some gas stations with prices have reached back up to the $2 mark in some places.
Businesses said it's higher -- but much cheaper than $3 a little over a year ago.
AAA said the drop has allowed the average family to save $2,000 or more in gas a year. But local businesses said they hope the costs won't go up too much higher.
"Absolutely not because then what's going to happen to all the dealerships around? People aren't going to want to buy car, they can't afford it, they're going to go home and not spend any money," said Confusione.
