Delta, an 11-year-old a Yorkie poo, was just doing what dogs do Monday: chasing lizards in the yard of her owners' home.

"She's always hunting something," said Thomas Donahoe, of Viera.

But this time, the tiny creature she was after went underneath Donahoe's Corvette, parked in the driveway. Delta, following her prey, then got her head wedged in part of the low-riding sports car's exhaust pipe. She was stuck under the car.

"You can hardly get your arm under there like that," said Misty Lange, the dog's co-owner.

On the video they shot, they're heard giving Delta reassurances.

"Don't get excited. Daddy is going to get you out."

Donahoe jacked up the car, but there was still little room to work. Minutes were ticking by, and their worry increased.

"(She) just stuck her head up in there. I'm mean, what goes in must come out," you can hear on the video.

They were making quite a commotion, which was heard by the neighbor across the street — who happens to be a Melbourne Police officer.

Brent Kleeberg was off duty but sprang into action and climbed under the car himself.

Then, they had an idea. Lange stopped recording video, brought back some Vaseline, and not long after, Delta was free.

She'd been stuck under the car for an hour and a half, but "it seemed like all day," Lange recalled.

Delta is back to normal, even spotting a snake in the yard. But her doggie parents didn't let her chase it — for good reason. Kleeberg was on the job, in training Wednesday. He said he was glad to help, and it's a relief the dog is fine.
