Residents in one Orlando neighborhood had quite the surprise Saturday morning after a cow was found running loose in the streets.

  • Cow was spotted early Saturday morning in an Orlando neighborhood
  • Orange County Sheriff's Office called a cowboy to come capture the cow
  • Deputies are trying to determine the owner of the cow

The cow was spotted in the neighborhood off Dean Road and Curry Ford Road.

Orange County deputies, who responded to the report, called in a real-life cowboy to wrangle in the cow. The cowboy brought his three dogs along for help.

“We turn around and a cowboy starts riding up the street on horseback and that’s when it got even weirder,” said Timothy Johnson, a homeowner.

Johnson and his daughter watched as the cowboy used a lasso to catch the cow. It only took the cowboy 15 minutes, according to the Sheriff’s Office.  But it’s 15 minutes Johnson said he won’t soon forget.

“One cow, one cowboy and three dogs,” he said.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the cow was impounded and is in a safe place. Deputies said they haven’t determined who owns the cow.

If the owner comes forward, deputies aren’t sure if a citation will be issued.
