  • Polk deputies say he confessed to sex with child under 12

Michael Schiavone was arrested Monday and is being held on no bond.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the victim, who is younger than 12, told her mother Friday that Schiavone had repeatedly battered her since August 2015. The most recent incident occurred May 12, she told investigators.

Schiavone confessed that he had sex with the child on two separate occasions this year, deputies said. When detectives asked him whether the child tried to stop him or push him away, he said, "No, she just laid there (on the bed) because she was too scared," deputies said.

"Michael Schiavone is a predator in every sense of the word," Polk Sheriff Grady Judd said.
