Most people who follow politics year after year realize that if you can pick one political convention simply for star gazing, you go to the Democratic National Convention.

Some of Hollywood's favorite Democratic celebrities took to Twitter Wednesday to announce they would be at the DNC next week. They also asked followers to text a Hillary Clinton for America number to get updates.

The celebrities so far include:

  • Tony Goldwyn (Scandal)
  • Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect, Hunger Games)
  • Eva Longoria (Telenovela, Desperate Housewives)
  • America Ferrera (Superstore)
  • Lena Dunham (Girls)
  • Debra Messing (Will & Grace, The Mysteries of Laura)
  • Erika Alexander (Living Single, Last Man Standing)
  • Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass series, The Equalizer)
  • Star Jones (The View)
  • Demi Lovato (Singer)
  • Kareem Abdul Jabbar (NBA legend)
  • Jarron Collins (Assistant coach, Golden State Warriors)
  • Jason Collins (retired NBA player, first openly gay NBA player)
  • Lee Daniels (Film director, Empire, The Butler)
  • Katy Perry (Singer)
  • Angela Bassett (American Horror Story)

More celebrities are possible.

At least two concerts are also planned for Democratic delegates, including one led by Snoop Dogg and another featuring Lady Gaga, Lenny Kravitz and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Meanwhile the Democratic National Convention unveiled its new app this week, which promises in-depth videos, social integration, livestreams, map overlays and lots of facts about host city Philadelphia.

The convention app, DNC 2016, is available for download in the App Store and on Google Play.
