One of six Florida medical marijuana licensees said Wednesday they're the first dispensary in the state to receive a formal authorization to process and dispense from the Florida Department of Health.

  • Trulieve says it's 1st licensee to get health department OK to dispense
  • Company to start sales from Tallahassee 'in coming days'

Trulieve also said it intends to start sales at its Tallahassee facility "within the coming days." It will be the first dispensary to open its doors in the state, the company said in a news release.

“We are happy to announce that we have passed all inspections — from growing and processing to dispensing — and are the very first medical cannabis provider in the state to receive these formal authorizations," Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers said.

The formal authorization to dispense dated July 20 states:

George Hackney, Inc. d/b/a Trulieve is authorized to begin dispensing low-THC cannabis and medical cannabis at its dispensing facility located at 800 Capital Cir SE, Tallahassee, FL 32301.

Trulieve will offer their low-THC cannabis available for statewide delivery soon and will have high-THC medical cannabis available in early August, the company said.
