In between raucous delegate breakfasts and even more raucous convention evenings, delegates are spread out all over Philadelphia. There are caucus meetings, council meetings, activities ranging from bounce houses to historical exhibits, and speakers everywhere.

Reporter Saundra Weathers and I caught former Shuttle Commander Mark Kelly rushing somewhere outside the Florida delegation's hotel. We tried to get him to do an interview. To his credit, it seemed like he was willing to stop, but he said he was late for a meeting.

We learned later he spoke to gun-control activists. Kelly and his wife, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, are leaders in the movement. Giffords was shot in the head while meeting constituents at a public event in Arizona.

Giffords and Kelly will speak at the convention Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Saundra and I planned to meet up with Bernie Sanders delegate and prominent Orlando food writer Ricky Ly at Reading Terminal Market. I got to the historic food hall early to talk to marketing people, and I overheard two of them talk about the celebrity interviews going on at the National Constitution Center: Inside the Actor's Studio-style interviews featuring Melissa Fitzgerald ("The West Wing") with stars such as Debra Messing, Tony Goldwyn ("Scandal") and fellow West Wing cast member Richard Schiff. All sold out.

So I took the chance and asked: Was there a way for media to get in?

Ask and you shall receive.

Schiff and Fitzgerald were only supposed to go about 50 minutes. They went an hour and a half — stories from the set of The West Wing, thoughts on the cast and crew and of course, about politics. Then Schiff took questions, graciously offering up deep answers to heavy questions. If you have seen the show, you know Schiff's character, Toby Ziegler, was quiet but intense and passionate. Schiff is the same.

Fitzgerald, a native of Philadelphia, is now an advocate for establishing veterans treatment courts all over the country, including Florida. The courts help veterans with minor offenses avoid jail time and get the help they need. The cast of The West Wing support Fitzgerald and Justice for Vets. They taped a powerful PSA, which you can view on the Justice for Vets website.

Then I got to go backstage and meet Schiff. Toby Ziegler is my favorite character on the West Wing. Check out the video. Ziegler talks about what Toby would think of this election season, and Schiff also has a message for Sanders supporters.

But back to the Reading Terminal Market. Orlando aspires to be a greater foodie town. We already have some food halls in Audubon Park and in Winter Garden, among others, and more are on the way.

I hope these markets get the chance to check out Reading Terminal Market. This is an amazing place with an amazing history. And it's also doing something amazing — the market is being used as a way to get different neighborhoods and different communities together over food.
