The drone ship with the Falcon 9 rocket booster docked around noon Wednesday.

SpaceX hasn't commented on the condition, but there appeared to be minimal damage to the booster.

The Falcon 9 rocket launched on time at 1:26 a.m. Sunday from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The mission sent a Japanese company's communications satellite into orbit.

The booster then landed on the drone ship about 10 minutes after launch. SpaceX is working to reuse its rockets to help drive down the cost of launches.

United Launch Alliance's Delta V rocket will ferry a pair of United States satellites into orbit in the next launch from the Space Coast, which is set for Friday, Aug. 19.

The launch window is from 12:37 a.m. to 1:52 a.m. from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
