  • Mother of Eddie Justice attended; Justice was killed in Pulse shooting

The event was held at New Beginnings Church and ended with a ribbon dedication ceremony at Langford Park.

After the reception, the mother of Eddie Justice wrote his name on a purple ribbon and placed it on a tree.

“I’ve never experienced a hurt or pain like this. My pain is so deep,” Mina Justice said.

Justice was killed inside a bathroom at Pulse nightclub in June. He was texting his mother as the shooter opened fire inside the club.

“I heard my phone go off at 2:06 a.m., and I look at it and it said, ‘Mommy I love you’ and I went ‘what?’ and then I called, and he was telling me where he was at in the club and they were shooting and to call the police. So I was on another phone calling the dispatcher," Mina Justice said.

Justice's mother said she is grateful to have a new support system that consists of families that are going through similar situations like her.

This is the 10th year the event has been held.
