The U.S. Forest Service is conducting a prescribed burn in the Ocala National Forest today on a 626-acre site southeast of Half Moon Lake, near Forest Road 05.

The burn will eliminate vegetation buildup and reduce the threat of wildfires, according to forest officials.

People may see smoke today and tomorrow in that vicinity and are cautioned to drive slowing with lights on.

Fog mixed with smoke can decrease visibility.
