If you thought it was rather warm last year, you would be right.

We didn’t break a lot of records, but the above normal temperatures that we had for most of the year gave us a year that ranked in the top five warmest years on record for several Central Florida cities.

The warmest months were March, July, August and December. We aren’t just talking about Orlando — we were in the top five for Daytona Beach, Melbourne and Vero Beach also.

We started the year on the wet side with well above normal rainfall. Toward the end, though, we were very dry.

But the wet start to the year, combined with heavy rainfall at times during the summer and well above normal precipitation in May and early fall, helped our yearly averages stay at or just a bit above normal.
