On board is a communications satellite that will deliver broadcast television signals to the U.S. and surrounding areas.

And another successful part of the launch was when the Falcon 9's first stage rocket booster stuck the landing.

It hit its mark on the drone ship called "Of Course I Still Love You," more than 200 miles off the Atlantic coast.

This was the first SpaceX launch from Cape Canaveral since Hurricane Irma.

Meanwhile, United Launch Alliance will wait until at least Saturday to try to launch an Atlas 5 rocket again.

The ULA has already scrubbed the launch three times due to bad weather, but during the third attempt, a telemetry transmitter forced the launch to be called off last weekend.

However, that has been replaced and tested.

Saturday's launch window is supposed to open at 3:31 a.m.
