An 11-year-old boy died in a fatal fire in a mobile home in Osceola County at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.

  • 2 people went to hospital for burns
  • Arson is not suspected for cause of fire

Elisa Hernandez’s daughter and son-in-law live at the Golden Grove Mobile Home Park in St. Cloud, where the mobile home caught fire.

It’s a scene neighbors said no one would want to witness.

“It was terrible… Everyone was screaming, scared, panicked,” Hernandez said.

Hernandez's son-in-law was injured breaking into the mobile home to try and save the boy inside.

“He went inside the house, in the fire. He pushed with his elbow and broke the window,” Hernandez said. “Went to the room where the baby was, the mother started to tell him my son is there, he is burning.”

Hernandez said her son-in-law couldn’t find the boy because of all the smoke inside the house and came out empty-handed.

He's currently in the hospital, and will be having surgery for cutting a tendon in his arm.

According to officials, the boy’s mother and teenage daughter managed to escape the burning home. The mom is being treated at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Officials are condemning the home as it is a total loss. They believe the fire was accidental and there may have been an electrical issue.
