A bomb threat forced the evacuation of Olympia High School Thursday for much of the day.

  • Olympia High School students evacuated to foodball stadium
  • Orange County dispatch said a bomb threat had been called in
  • A sweep of the school by law enforcement found nothing

The school was swept and the principal says nothing was found. The lockdown has been lifted.

Parents of students there told Spectrum News 13 that the school was on lockdown for several minutes, and then students were evacuated to the football stadium.

Parents received the following phone message from the school's principal:

"Parents, this is Olympia High School Principal Guy Swanson. I am calling to inform you that we have evacuated our buildings on campus due to a report of a possible threat against our school. All students and staff are safe. Local law enforcement is working closely with district police. This campus is also on a lockout. No one will be allowed to enter campus during the lockout. We take these matters very seriously, and please be assured that the safety of our students and staff is my top priority."

Orange County dispatch said there was a report of a bomb threat at the school.

Apopka-Vineland Road near Conroy-Windermere Road was also shut down in that area as a precaution.

But a law enforcement sweep turned up nothing. The school has been cleared and everything is expected to open back up in that area.
