A man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in Volusia County is behind bars in Pinellas County following a traffic stop.

Investigators with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office found the body of 51-year-old Lisa Bresie on Sunday in her DeBary home on 71 Lantana Drive.

They say she was found with multiple stab wounds and there was a lot of blood inside the house.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has charged 45-year-old Anton Lamar Sanders with first-degree murder in connection with the death.

They say Sanders was captured in Pinellas County last Thursday.

At the time, Florida Highway Patrol troopers say he was in Bresie’s car on Interstate 275 when they got a call about an impaired man showing signs of distress.

When they arrived, they say Sanders had blood on him and there was blood in the car.

Troopers say while he was being treated by emergency officials, Sanders allegedly tried to throw himself off a bridge.

Investigators were able to match a bloody fingerprint found at the scene that links Sanders to Bresie's home.

He is being held on no bond in Pinellas County.
