The crash happened in the center eastbound lane near SeaWorld and the Beachline just before 5 a.m.

Troopers said a semi tractor-trailer driven by 39-year-old Mayel Perez of Clewiston rear-ended another driven by 49-year-old David Plasky of Winter Haven.

Perez's trailer was hauling tanks full of live fish, which shifted and fell onto the roadway.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, troopers say. Plasky was taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash and spill, which backed up the roadway for miles, was cleared and the roadway reopened by 7:30 a.m.
