The hit movie "Hidden Figures" has inspired an exhibit in Seminole County that features African-American women influential in the county’s history.

"Hidden Figures" is about a team of African-American women who helped NASA launch some of its first important missions into space.

The Seminole County exhibit features women who made notable contributions through service, dedication and inspiration.

“These really are women who’ve been in the shadows, helping their community out and trudging through and making all of these contributions to our society and community over the past many decades,” said Bennett Lloyd of the Museum of Seminole County History.

The exhibit opened this week and is open through March.
