SodaStream is recalling thousands of its carbonating bottles because of explosion risks.

  • SodaStream recalling 1-liter carbonating bottles
  • Bottles can burst under pressure, federal regulators say
  • Consumers with these bottles can get refund

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the bottles can burst under pressure.

The affected bottles are SodaStream's 1-liter blue tint, dishwasher-safe carbonating bottles. They have a blue cap and blue bottom base.

The bottles have an expiration date of "4/2020" printed on the label and were sold from February of last year to just last month.

The bottles were sold on the company's website as well as Amazon, Target, Wal-Mart and Bed Bath and Beyond.

No injuries have been reported.

Anyone with one of those bottles is asked to immediately stop using it and contact SodaStream USA for a refund at 866-272-9417 between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or go online at sodastream.com and click on the recall at the top of the page.
