This weekend will feature some big events, starting Friday.

Here are 5 events we're watching in Central Florida on Friday.

1. Orlando City Soccer Stadium ribbon cutting

After delays, controversies and changes, Orlando City Soccer officials will finally cut the ribbon on its stadium Friday morning.

The 25,500-seat stadium is located in the Parramore neighborhood, not far from the Amway Center. The team has already sold out season tickets, as well as tickets to the opening match on Sunday, March 5 and single-game tickets to the LA Galaxy match on Saturday, April 15.

The stadium features a natural grass playing surface and a four-sided canopy roof.

You can get a closer look using the Virtual Venue tool on the stadium website.

2. Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend begins

Thousands are in town for the annual Disney Princess Half Marathon. On Friday a Princess 5K and child races take place in the morning at Walt Disney World. The Princess Enchanted 10K is on Saturday and the Half Marathon is on Sunday.

It's the 10th anniversary of the annual racing series.

3. Congressman Daniel Webster appearance

Rep. Dan Webster, the Republican who represents parts of Lake, Sumter, Marion, Citrus and Hernando counties, will host an open house at his offices in The Villages Friday morning at 11 a.m.

Webster held a similar event in Inverness Tuesday and he encountered protesters. He refused to answer their questions and left after a few minutes. While The Villages are a conservative area, it's possible he may encounter protesters there as well.

4. Maitland Summit Boulevard closing this weekend

Because of I-4 Ultimate Construction, Maitland Summit Boulevard is closing this weekend near Maitland Boulevard.

Crews will be placing girders for the new westbound Maitland Boulevard overpass. The closure begins at 8 p.m. Friday and will reopen by 6 a.m. Monday.

5. Speedweeks races at Daytona

Speedweeks events continue Friday at Daytona International Speedway. The big race under the Daytona lights will be the NextEra Energy Resources 250. The race is part of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

And coming this weekend -- the Downtown Orlando Food and Wine Festival, a rally for health care Saturday, and more races at Walt Disney World and Daytona.
