Space X will attempt its second launch of the year from Kennedy Space Center this week.


Following Thursday's static fire test, SpaceX is planning to launch the EchoStar XXIII satellite early Tuesday morning.

This will mark Space Xs second launch from the historic launch pad 39A. 

The pad was previously used for launching Apollo and shuttle missions, however It was recently refurbished.  

SpaceX first used the launch pad last month, successfully launching a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the CSR-10 Dragon, and then landing part of the rocket at nearby Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Tuesday’s launch will deliver the EchoStar satellite to a Geostationary Transfer Orbit. The high-powered satellite is designed to provide service for 15 years or more.

The launch window opens at 1:34 a.m. and closes at 4:04 a.m.

SpaceX tells said it will release more information about the payload closer to the launch.
