February was another warm and dry month across Central Florida.

There were only a few cold fronts, and most of them were dry with very little cold air making it here.

Orlando, Daytona Beach, Melbourne and Vero Beach all saw average temperatures well above normal. Orlando and Melbourne saw the eighth and 10th warmest February average temperatures on record, respectively.

As for rainfall, three of four of those cities saw below average rainfall. Melbourne, on the other hand, got quite a bit of rain in February.

Let’s look at the numbers.

So our lack of rainfall wasn’t enough for the top 10 list, but we did get two for temperatures. Let’s hope things return to normal soon so we can green things up across the area and knock down that spring fire danger.
