  • Bomb squad has taken device to Palm Bay gun range
  • Detectives trying to obtain surveillance video from shops in area

The device was found outside Stack Plaza, a busy business plaza, on Palm Bay Road.

A cleaning crew saw the device on a curb when they showed up for work Thursday morning. The device included a plastic bag inside a plastic bottle with what appeared to be fuses attached.

They said it was about 15 feet from a few businesses in the parking lot.

The Brevard County Sheriff's bomb squad has taken the device to a gun range for further inspection.

They have not yet confirmed whether it's a bomb. If the bomb squad detonates the device, it will have to be sent away to forensics. If it's not detonated, the squad will be able to test what might be inside it.

And this point, it's not known who may have left it, but detectives are talking to local businesses to try to get surveillance video of the area.
