More than two dozen people were arrested in Volusia County in the last couple of days as part of a crime sweep called “Operation Rolling Thunder.”

During the two-day operation, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies in the county conducted nearly 800 traffic stops and issued more than 400 traffic citations.

Deputies arrested more than two dozen people on charges including driving with a suspended license, carrying a concealed weapon and drug possession.

Clarence Collmar, 41, was one of the people arrested. He was driving a stolen vehicle around Daytona Beach, according to the Sheriff’s Office. When officers confronted him, they found a marijuana pipe inside the vehicle. Collmar was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dekevian Smith, 22, was also arrested during the crime sweep. Officers pulled him over for speeding along Mason Avenue. They found a loaded handgun inside the glove compartment of his vehicle. Smith faces a charge of carrying a concealed firearm.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said that more operations are planned in the future.
