A Kissimmee teacher at Parkway Middle School is accused of kidnapping and beating another teacher in a classroom closet.

  • Accused of picking up a teacher, taking her into closet, beating her
  • Teacher reassigned from Parkway Middle

Shawn Greaves is charged with battery and kidnapping. It stems from an incident between him and another teacher at the school. Osceola County sheriff's deputies confirm the victim said Greaves picked her up, took her into a classroom closet and beat her.

The allegations are shocking for one of his students and his mother.

“He never portrayed to be bad or anything like that. He was always a cool teacher, so I was kind of surprised,” said Ali Sissoko, an eighth  grader at Parkway Middle.

“Mr. Greaves is a role model to my son and to many young boys here at Parkway Middle," said Ali's mother, Schellie Fanfan-Sissoko. "And girls as well, so we’re just really hoping for the best. Very shocking.”

Greaves is out of jail on bond. A spokesperson for Osceola schools said Greaves is still getting paid but was reassigned from Parkway Middle and has no contact with children.

Schellie Fanfan-Sissoko calls the accusations against Greaves out of character. He was her daughter’s teacher years before he taught her son.

“There is always two sides to every story, and there is the truth. I know him to be an amazing man. I don’t know the circumstances of what brings us here today, but I just believe the truth will prevail,” she said.
