A 65-year-old DeLand resident was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Volusia County on Thursday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Around 8:50 p.m., 68-year-old Craig Bone was driving his 2013 four-door KIA on U.S. 92 westbound when he struck Wayne Borchers as he was trying to cross U.S. 92 along Kepler Road, stated the FHP's press release.
Borchers was declared dead at the scene and alcohol is not related to this accident, according to the FHP.
The accident is under investigation.
