A 20-acre brush fire is not a threat to homes and no evacuations have been ordered, stated the Orange County Fire Rescue on Saturday.

Orange County Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service are at the scene on 1800 Wekiwa Circle near Apopka with tractors, bulldozers and wood trucks being used, according to Ashley Gipson, public information office for fire rescue.

While the fire, described as a level 3, is in Orange County, officials are trying to gain access to it through Lake County, off State Road 443, Gipson told News 13.

"Seminole County Sheriff’s Office did try to assist at some point with their helicopter, but had to back off because the smoke affected visibility," Gipson said.

Canoe access is being denied at King's Landing on 5722 Baptist Camp Rd., Apopka.
