The situation in the Iranian capital of Tehran is now over with four attackers killed and at least 12 people dead, officials stated.

There was an assault on Iran’s parliament building and at the Ayatollah Khomeini mausoleum on Wednesday by gunmen and suicide bombers.

Iranian state media says at least a dozen were killed and dozens more wounded as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Gunfire could be heard outside of the parliament, according to tweets by an Iran newspaper.

At the parliament building, gunmen apparently dressed as women went on a shooting spree with rifles and it is reported one attacker blew himself up inside.

A legislative session was underway there and attackers took a number of hostages.

At the same time, a shooting and bomb attack at the shrine about 15 miles away where one was arrested.

Along with these assaults, ISIS has also claimed responsibility for the attack in London Saturday where three men rammed a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before launching a stabbing spree.

On Wednesday morning, London police found the body of an eighth victim in the River Thames, the third French death in the London Bridge attack.

On Tuesday, a man attacked an officer in Paris with a hammer, however no group immediately claimed responsibility, but police say they found a declaration of allegiance to the ISIS terror group in the suspect’s home.
