Marion County firefighters rescued two dogs after a car crashed into an Ocala apartment Saturday.

The crash happened just after 2 p.m. at an apartment building on SE 17th Court.

A resident called 911 to report a vehicle had crashed into the neighboring apartment.

When firefighters arrived, they found a black sedan partially inside the bedroom of the apartment.

The driver and passenger were able to exit the vehicle. The person inside the apartment was unharmed, however, their dog was lodged underneath the car and the bed.

Firefighters were able to free the dog, which was uninjured. They were also able to located a dog inside the car and return it to its owners.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
