A federal judge won't dismiss an obstruction charge against the wife of the gunman who opened fire at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

The judge on Tuesday denied a request from Noor Salman to dismiss one of two criminal charges she faces.

Salman is scheduled for trial next March on the obstruction charge and a count of aiding and abetting her husband, Omar Mateen.

Salman argued that the obstruction charge was filed in the wrong venue.

The motion requesting the charge to be dropped was filed June 12, 2017, as people across Orlando and beyond commemorated the one-year mark of the attack that killed 49 people and injured more than 50 others in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Salman's husband, Mateen, pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group during the attack before authorities killed him in a shootout.
