Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for the rest of the week:

  • Chance for rain will remain each afternoon, evening
  • Highs will stay close to seasonable -- upper 80s, low 90s

Showers and storms developed quickly Tuesday afternoon along the east and west coast sea breeze. Boundary collisions caused a few of the storms to become strong with gusty wind and frequent lightning.

One tree in Delaney Park caused damage to multiple vehicles.

As the huge tree fell, pieces of it hit three of the cars that were parked in Madeline Moran's home. A Nissan, Jaguar and Maserati were all hit. And unfortunately for the Moran family, this wasn’t the first time it happened.

Moran has been living in this area for 20 years. She said a couple years back a piece of the same tree landed on one of her cars. This time, her car, her husband's car and her mother-in-law's car were all wrecked by the storm.

Moran said she heard a very loud crunch and before you know it the tree came crashing down.

"We have a tree that's a problem. And nothing absolutely nothing. We are not OK with it," Moran added. "Everyone makes mistakes, but it's costing us a lot of money and I have no car. My car is totaled."

Forecast through the week

The chance for rain will remain in the forecast each afternoon and evening through the end of the week. Minor flooding is expected in the slow moving storms.

No change in our pattern for Wednesday and Thursday, with afternoon and evening boundary collisions leading to slow moving, heavy rain producing storms. We’ll keep highs close to seasonable levels in the upper 80s and low 90s.

In the tropics, Don has degenerated into a remnant low. The eventual track of this storm takes it toward Central America.

Poor to fair conditions are forecast for our area surfers Wednesday with a small east-southeast trade swell and wave heights below thigh high. As has been the case the past few days, we'll have enough chop to keep the rip current risk in the moderate category.

Sea surface temperatures have warmed to between 80 and 84 degrees. The UV index remains extreme, so don't forget the sunscreen.
