Two people whom a witness said was pulling on vehicle door handles have been arrested in connection with vehicle burglaries in the Winter Park area.

On Monday, Seminole County Sherriff’s deputies responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress in the 2000 block of Sun Valley Circle.

A witness told responding deputies that he saw a man and woman pulling on vehicle door handles. When the witness approached them, the man and woman fled to a gray Jeep Cherokee, deputies said.

The witness provided the Jeep's tag number to deputies, who found the Jeep going eastbound on Howell Branch Road.

After conducting a traffic stop and searching the vehicle, deputies said they found electronics and valuables connected to other vehicle burglaries in the Sun Valley Circle area.

Desire Alize Negron, 20, of Casselberry and James Edward Kirk, 19, of Apopka were arrested and charged with burglary.

Deputies underscored the importance of locking your vehicles and not leaving valuables inside.
