Two men and a teen have been charged with various offenses after an Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy was shot at during the early morning hours on Monday, officials say.

Leonaldo Gourdet Jr., Richie Pierre and Matthew Jerome are facing a variety of charges in the shooting of a deputy, according to officials.

At about 2:31 a.m., Monday, a deputy followed what they described as a suspicious vehicle near the 2600 block of Wyndham Lane when someone in the car started to shoot at the deputy, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Investigators say that someone reached out of the driver's side window and opened fire, missing its target. Instead, the bullets went right through a home and into a bedroom where the residents were sleeping. No one was hurt.

Gourdet Jr., 20, has been charged with:

  • Accessory after/attempted 1st Degree Murder Leo/Firearm
  • Burglary of a structure
  • Resisting without violence
  • Fleeing a law enforcement officer

Both Jerome, 18, and Pierre, 17, have been charged with:

  • Burglary of a structure
  • Resisting without violence
